*Jan 19 2012: Liberated Transparency Salon, combining CMHA, Power to Be and progams associated with the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) and Odd Squad Productions.
* June: R2EP Scotia Bank Half Marathon
* July 31st: San Fran Marathon for CMHA
* October: 50km Victoria marathon for Power to Be Adventure Therapy.
WRAP UP 2011:
2011 has been an amazing year, reaching new performance records and cause highlights for my PB! My BIG “slightly insane” (but all for social change) upcoming events roster:
Oct 9, 2011 – The Goodlife Victoria Marathon supporting Power To Be Adventure Therapy Society. Power to Be provides dynamic outdoor recreation and educational programs that enrich the health and quality of life youth, adults and families facing significant life challenges. Goal: $1000.00 raise.
July 31, 2011 - SanFran Marathon - in honor of my mother, Nora Donnelly and on the anniversary of her passing , I pay tribute to her life. I will be supporting the North ad West Vancouver Mental Health Association , which is a progressive, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting those who suffer from mental health and addiction. Proceeds go directly to the CMHA. Goal $750.00 raise – ACHIEVED.
June 26, 2011 – Scotiabank Half Marathon – (R2EP) Run to End Poverty. Running the half marathon 21.1km, then the 5km, then in reverse (47km) in support of Engineers Without Borders and the development of a water and sanitation project in Malawi. Clean water, latrines, sanitation programs – essential for youth, especially girls in Africa! Goal $500.00 raise – ACHIEVED.
March 8th 2010 – March 8th 2011 – Today is Day 87! On March 8th 2010 I pledged to walk 6km every day for 365 days to showcase the magnitude of what women in developing countries must do every day! Access to clean water, education, health and economic empowerment are key towards erradicating poverty!
March 6, 2011 – 100km ultra - CARE CANADA Walk in Her Shoes for International Womens Day. Supporting girls education through empowering communities globally! Women are 80% of the beneficiaries in developing countries! 16x6km distances strung together to make 1ookm! 6km is the average distance a women or girl must walk for basic life necessities, like clean water and food. Goal $5000.00 – ACHIEVED.
March – June 2012 – Gear up for 101km CARE CANADA Walk in Her Shoes Campaign to support International Womens Day!
